This little guy (or hopefully, gal!) couldn’t get off its back for two days after hatching…we thought it would never make it. Surprisingly, on the 3rd day, it started looking much better and even standing! One of its wings is definitely deformed and extremely tiny which makes it really hard to stand and balance…thus the name Nemo (after the fish in the movie with the tiny fin!).
Andres decided to do some “imprinting” or connecting with the little guy to help him out. SWEETEST MOMENT EVER, is when Andres said he was going to ‘give it some skin-to-feather contact’ in the hopes that would help it survive, or if it was going to die, at least make sure it didn’t feel sad or alone before it did. LOVE. THAT. KID.
