We went camping for 3 nights with the Hummell’s, and it was a relaxing, fun, and very energetic trip! We arrived Friday to the same campsite we stayed at in the past, right on the edge of the lake at Stillwater campground. It was great to see our “Colorado Grandby Grandma/Grandpa (Steve and Anna, the campsite hosts), and the fun began shortly after we arrived!
The kids spent most of their time kayaking, having mud wars, eating, and dancing on the beach. And the moms spent most of our time cooking, cleaning up the campsite, and talking. It was a wonderful trip!
The highlight was when the kids took us out to their ‘island’, about a 10 minute kayak trip out in the lake to a mucky/muddy/wet/goopy beach where they army-crawled, rolled, and did running face plants!
Cold nights, beautiful days, and an uneventful drive home wrapped it up!
