Sapolte Having Babies

Wow! 5 new baby goats on a night where it’s snowing and going to be in the high teens overnight.

The barn was going to get super cold, so daddy built a shelter with heat lamps to keep mamma and the new “kids” safe and warm.

We also had to have hand-held heat lamps for right after birth while mamma was still eating the placenta bag from around each new baby goat. Taina helped a lot in getting the placenta bags off from around the baby goat’s faces so they could breathe. Yvelore and the others did a great job in drying and snuggling the newborns in towels!

Miss Tamara from next door came to see all the excitement too.

Good thing that mommy had looked everything up online that we needed to do during the birthing process.
