This was a great spring camping trip with the Trail Life troop.

We went to the Sand Dunes National Park. Even though it was only 65 degrees outside, the sand was extremely hot with bare feet. We had to stop and dig deep to the cooler sand many times.

We all got to cook, eat, play, hike and pray together.

One of the highlights was the hike to the top of the sand dunes for a gorgeous view and short bible study. Then, of course, running back down was a blast (see the video).

We also found a hike to a cave that had a glacier-fed waterfall and streaming sunlight coming in from the back.

If you see a picture with a pile of what looks like a lump of all kinds of meat (and some eggs) being grilled, that was the dad’s concoction of the “nasty” sandwiches. Of course, we all loved it!
