Today we visited the Monteverde Cloud Forest on a guided tour. Our guide’s name was Danny.

Andres thought this was the best day yet because we got to see venomous snakes and a tarantula!

We also saw mom’s favorite animal, a beautiful male quetzal bird, and all its wonderful colors.

In all, we saw snakes, spider monkeys, lizards, spiders, tarantulas, butterflies, hummingbirds, big metallic blue ants, bullet ants, frogs, centipedes, and other kinds of colorful birds.

We learned so much about how the cloud forest ecosystem works…like how the ficus trees grow over and kill their host trees, only to then finally die off themselves.

While watching the quetzal, it regurgitated an avocado seed right in front of us.

This day was certainly the highlight of our trip so far!
